Tee Off for Cure for Huntington'sOn March 27, 2006, 16 determined golfers gathered at El Dorado Country Club in McKinney to play the longest day of golf they ever had and to Tee Off for Cure for Huntington's. This 100-hole golf marathon was our fifth golf outing in the Dallas Metroplex and a change in format from our usual 4-man scramble. Under the wonderful leadership of Cody Bradshaw and strong support from previous chairs Becky Quandahl and Tom Lyon, the 2006 committee presented our most successful event ever raising a whopping $45,000 which was matched by the High Q Foundation. A few foursomes joined the marathon golfers and teed off in the afternoon to join the fight for a cure. Golfers from all over Texas, from MS, OK, and from CA joined us in taking aim at HD. TX Affiliate President, Bry McGee, joined us in McKinney to volunteer. Since HD is such a family disease, Cody brought his family to play and to assist with the event. Cody' grandmother, godmother, mother, and wife manned the registration table. This year's event was played in memory of Sheila Hubbard-Hubbard-Porter and her husband Tom was our hole-in-one sponsor. The committee wishes to thank all our sponsors for their support and hope they will join us again next year. Among those are:
Congratulations to Cody's able committee who did an outstanding job!!!! |
